2019-2020 at a Glance
Every academic year is a mile stone for an institution and is filled with opportunities. The academic year 2019-20 presented a plethora of opportunities and memories, both for the students and the staff members. Extracurricular activities were meticulously planned and scheduled in such a way that the students get their well-deserved break from the rigorous academic sessions.
Here is 2019-20 at a glance :
Surabhi 2019 was the flavor of the month of August, 2019. Students had a great platform to compete in various events. The fun-filled practice sessions, the competitions, the run-up to the finale and the grand ceremonies made Surabhi 2019, a great experience for the students.
• Off-stage events- Day 1: 12 August Day 2: 27 August • On-stage events and Finale- 14 August at ,Chowdiah Memorial HallThe valedictory ceremony was also held on 14t August for the elected class representatives of all the section .The Chief Guest presented the badges to the leaders.
Ethnic Day : September 10
The most awaited day for the students- a special day when they get to flaunt their style quotient. The event was efficiently organized by the students under the watchful eyes of the teachers. The campus was tastefully decorated with banners and confetti and the students in their ensembles added more colour to the décor. The day brought out the creativity and organizing skills in the students as they diligently planned the various events for the day and executed them to perfection. The ‘treasure hunt’ had the participants on their foot, literally and metaphorically. The impromptu dance performance by the cheerful students and the lecturers was the highlight of the day.
College trip: October 30, 31 , November 1
Six buses filled with more than 500 excited students rolled out of Bengaluru in the early hours of October 30, all set for a three-day trip to Chikmagaluru. The II PU students enjoyed the trip with their friends, making memories for life. Sightseeing in Belur and Halebidu, an ethereal trek on the misty mountains of Mulayangiri, a lively DJ evening with natural rain were some of the many highlights of the trip.
Annual day: 20 November
College day 2019 was a cultural extravaganza replete with music, dance and drama. The legendary story of Kanteerava in the form of a Kannada play, an enthralling light music rendition and the impeccable dance performances proved to be a treat for the audience. Students from the 2017-19 batch who had excelled in the 2019 II PU Board Examinations were honoured with cash prizes.
Electrovaganza 2019- December 17
The annual science fest witnessed commendable participation by the students. The students had a field day, proudly exhibiting their innovative models and ideas. Automated waste segregation, an affordable water purifier, a security system were a few among the many working models exhibited. The participants patiently explained their models to the visitors who flocked the exhibition venue.
Farewell day- December 27,2019
A grand ceremony was organized to give the outgoing batch a fitting farewell. The II PU students turned up in their Sunday best, preparing for an evening with mixed emotions. During the official function, students got a platform to share their experiences. Selected students were conferred the “Spirit of Vidya Mandir” award for relentlessly upholding the spirit of the institution. The I PU students put up a variety entertainment programme for their beloved seniors.
